The Hostelz.com Review
Hostel 6 is nestled away in one of Slovakias touristic gems Banska Stiavnica. It's not what one might expect, and certainly isn't there to make money -- rather it's there out of love for the place. The hostel is extremely well equipped, clean, and modern yet it has character and a location that is as practical as any other.
The Location
Hostel 6 gets its name from the address. It's on the main road up from the old center of town and has a great view out over the city because its up on a hill. Across the road is probably the best tea house in Central Europe that has several cozy rooms and changing visual and musical artists. It's not far from the center of the old town where everything happens (eating, banks, shops, clubs). The castle on the hill as well as a mountaintop lake are also in walking distance.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are spacious and very tastefully done. They have a few beds each (no bunks) and lockable cabinets. If there were such a thing as a four-star hostel, Hostel 6 might qualify just due to the sunniness and pleasantness of the rooms alone. The bathrooms are separate but there are just a few, which doesn't seem to be a problem as the hostel is small and not very crowded.
Common Spaces
There is a very well suited kitchen (everything you could need is there) as well as a common room with a computer. Both are nicely designed as well. The highlight, though is the deck outside that has a few large tables and a stunning view over the city.
Summary
This is a laid back and very nice hostel. It's the kind of place one would always love to find, and it doesn't hurt that it's the only cheap option for a long ways and happens to be in a darling town. It would be hard for anyone to find any complaints about this place because it is pretty much the perfect balance between new and old, social and quiet, and rural and urban.

Outstanding! This hostel is almost faultless, in a perfect location with great views and in a lovely town! The hostel itself is spotless, beautifully decorated, with many books and games available and friendly staff. I was stuck here for three days with nonstop rain yet staying in this place was a pleasure. The only problem is lack of people, get down there! — dan , British (2008-03-14) Located in a smart place with great view on the town from the patio , 6 Hostel is surely a great place to stay. The hostel is small and with a nice atmosphere.
There are just 3 rooms (the larger has 6 beds), two bathrooms (women and men), one kitchen and very nice lounge room equipped with hi-fi and a guitar.
(I played outside, during a lonely night, looking at lighty town , and it was wonderfull).
The man that manages the hostel is smart and kind and other than have advice on his town you will enjoy conversation with him.
There are single lockers for each bed with personal key that it mostly unique than rare.
