The Lakehouse Hotel is a ten-minute walk from the bus stop, but most bus drivers will let you off almost outside it if you ask them nicely. Although it is called a hotel, it has a couple of dorm rooms, most of the facilities a hostel does, and charges hostel prices.
We stayed in a double room, which was all that was left when we arrived, but it was a good price. The room has a view out over the lake and a balcony to sit on and admire the scenery all around. There is only limited storage space for bags. There is a shared shower at either end of the building and even a bath. There are separate male and female restrooms also.
Everything is clean. Bedding is supplied at no extra charge. The kitchen has just about everything you could need, including a microwave oven. There is a large fridge for your food and shelves for your dry produce. There is a free food shelf as per any decent hostel. The kitchen has a couple of tables and chairs for you to eat at, however we prefer the ones on the balcony. There is a small sitting area to watch television, which we didn't use (and so cannot comment on whether it works).
We were initially put off by the fact that it calls itself a hotel, but it is a hostel. The lady that runs it and welcomes you as you arrive is very friendly and helpful. She can supply you with a map of the town to get you started.
