A hostel with a chef on staff? Yep, you read it right. They have a chef on staff here who created a most incredible meal. From the party atmosphere, I assumed the coconut tequila shooters they were serving was the meal. I was wrong. They were just an appetizer to an awesome meal. Had a difficult time sleeping since this is a youth hostel and most of the folks are here to party but all in all I would recommend this to anyone who's young or even young at heart. The owners went out of their way to make us feel like family, even going so far as to prepare a special breakfast at 6 a.m. for us before we left (we had to be at the airport by 7 a.m.). I would definitely stay here again. — Mark Smith , United States (2010-01-03) Luxurious and safe As soon as I walked in the main door the owner came to help me with my bags. She was also very helpful in setting up a fun walking tour of Cancun Centro during the afternoon. This place has a beautiful garden, a upper deck with a great view, great kitchen facilities, free internet, spacious shower/bathroom and is conveniently located in Cancun Centro a seven-minute walk from the bus station. Each dorm bed gets a spacious locker to store personal belongings. Cancun not being one of my favorite cities, I only spent one night there, but regardless of the length of your stay, make yourself a favor and stay at Hostel Quetzal if you pass through the city and not planning to go to the beach, you will feel as much at home as in a regular, high-priced hotel. — Jean , Canada (2009-01-10)
