To find Art Hostel, turn left from the train station, and walk around the city fortifications, until you reach the Warande bridge. The hostel is located inside a beautifully redone building that displays an eclectic collection of art, and is painted in very lively colours.
You'll find reception just inside the front security door, with two free internet terminals. Wireless is quite expensive. Just down the hall from reception is a spacious restaurant, where a cheap but sparse breakfast is served. What should be a natural meeting place for guests is unfortunately dark and deserted after breakfast. There is no sign of the "cozy bar" mentioned in the ad.
Art Hostel provides comfortable beds and hot showers in very clean surroundings. The price is excellent. Unfortunately, this is where the upside ends. It provides those things, and absolutely nothing more. There is nowhere to gather, and absolutely nothing going on. The receptionist is very hard to find, but thankfully there is a buzzer at the front door, so you can be let in to register before being issued your security code. If there were more of a social atmosphere, this hostel would be a winner, but as it is, it is very boring. Book here if you're only interested in sleep -- otherwise, find a hostel closer to the city centre.
