all are very, very, very dirty -- bed, toilet, shower, floor, kitchen.

The kitchen was a filthy pigsty in the morning. The showers only had one tap so only one temperature and they leaked out, making a wet patch in the bathrooms. The bunks were squeaky and kept waking me up whenever anyone turned over. The hostel is smack bang in the middle of town (next to the information centre) so it was easy to walk around.

3 Planet Nomad is situated in the central city just across the road from the information centre and bus station. Its location means that guests have long-distance bus services and Rotorua's many tourist attractions almost right on the doorstep. The museum, Blue Baths and Polynesian Spa are five minutes' walk from the hostel. The kitchen is well equipped and joins a small but cosy lounge. A courtyard out the back makes a great setting for a BBQ meal or drinks. Bed linen is provided. The rooms have individual lockers for guests to securely store valuables. There is a range of videos available if you would like to watch a movie in the lounge. Coin-operated internet machines allow you to keep in touch by email, catch up with the news, and make on-line bookings.

2 This hostel is not very good. You have to pay for everything! Internet is 2NZ$ per half an hour, lockers have to be paid with 1NZ$ per closing it (just like in train stations, when the coin falls when you open the locker), you do not have constantly warm water (goes from ice cold to extremely hot), no soap in the bathroom. I expected to have better accommodation in New Zealand as in South America but this was an illusion. Hopefully they improve their services. Because the location is very good (nearly next door to the bus terminal).
