The Hostelz.com Review
Waitomo Top 10 Holiday Park's buildings and premises are in good condition. It has a beautiful view of the hills and a feel that you are in the country. The place has got a tranquil feel about it. It has a family atmosphere and is not noisy at night.

It has a well-equipped kitchen and outdoor barbeque facility, and a great outdoor eating area. The bathrooms are big and clean with lots of hot water. The bathrooms are about a two-minute walk from cabins and dorms. The cabins have a basin and kettle and you can rent crockery and cutlery from kitchen. There are also parking facilities on the grounds, near the acommodation. Faciities include a swimming pool, spa, and internet.

Waitomo is known for the glow worms, and at the office you can find lots of info about things to do in the area. They will even rent flashlights for walking at night to see the glowworms!

Take State Highway One from Auckland to Hamilton, then State Highway Three to Otorohanga. The turn off to Waitomo Caves is about six kilometers south of Otorohanga on your right. It is about another ten minutes drive on this road to Waitomo, which is a small town and Waitomo Park is on the main road with a big sign.

4 The place to stay in Waitomo
I stayed in this place in June 2008. My cozy cabin of four beds came with a clean sink, drinking glasses, and a kettle. I was also provided with a portable heater to keep myself warm. The room also had a small round table to put my stuff, read, and eat. The location is very convenient. It's just opposite the visitors' centre and village store. Within walking distance is Spellbound Tours, a great tour to join to see glow worm and limestone caves. The only inconvenience I encountered was the two-minute walk to the bathrooms from my cabin.

4 If there are two or three of you forget the hostel and stay in a cabin here. Its cheaper, closer to everything, and more comfortable than the hostels with a TV room, kitchen, pool, and trampolines.
