WARNING: DONT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!! I order two nights in there and when i arrived the girl on the desk said they have no available place! She was really not nice and even didnt give me my money back! — Ram , Israeli (2011-10-28)
BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR SECURITY! I'm having a serious problem with the MIAMI BEACH INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLERS HOSTEL. I bought a camera for US$1300 and I asked Amazon to ship it to the hostel's address. Everything has been agreed previously with the staff. The package had not only the hostel's address, but also my name and my arrival date. Amazon delivered the product as expected and I have the receipt of UPS with a hostel employee signature. Now the camera is missing and nobody can find it. Note that the entire package weighed 11.6 lbs, I mean, is not something easy to miss. Nobody did anything to help me find the camera, what makes me believe that they have something to do with a supposed stealing and mail violation, which is a federal crime under the US laws. Here is the detailed story: I talked to almost all employees who worked during my stay and none of them remembered anything about giving a 11 lbs package to any other guest. The girl who received the package (who signed the UPS receipt) was on vacation during the days when I was at the hostel and would come back to work only two days after my departure date. Her cellphone didn't work. The guys from the hostel called her but had no answer. They left voice messages on her cellphone but she did not call back. Until now (more than one month later) they didn't tell me if the girl came back or not. I asked the hostel staff to check out the surveillance videos, but they told me that only the owner could do it and show me the videos. Ok. The owner simply did not show up in the hostel during the days I was there, even being aware of what was going on and that I would leave his hostel in the following two days. If he didn't want to go there, it is fine, but he could have authorized somebody else to check the videos. However, again, he did nothing at all in order to solve the problem caused by his employees. When I was there they tried to keep me calm and also tried to make me believe that everything would be solved soon. They told me that the girl probably had placed the camera in a different room due to its size. Because of that I did not call the police. They also told me that the owner would go to the hostel on one of the days that I was there and I stayed at the hostel all this day, waiting for the owner. However he did not show up. Since I came back home, they take a long time to answer my mails and keep saying to me that they are not responsible for my package and that they receive many costumers' orders. I had to ask a friend of mine in Miami to report this federal crime and hire an attorney to request the reimburse of my material damages and the payment of the moral damages. Also, such hostel and its employee Ms. CAROLINE WAIVER will be sued due to the federal crime of mail interception and violation. GUYS PLANNING TO STAY THERE, BE HEAVILY CAREFUL WITH YOUR STUFF AT THIS HOSTEL. It's unsafe and you can not count on the staff. Be careful now, so you will not have troubles in the future. — gncdias , Brazil (2011-05-22)

Good value I have to say that i thought the hostel was good value for money but i did have some issues. Firstly the staff were slow, unable to multi-task, and frustrated the hell out of us -- nice people all the same! Rooms were cramped and cleaners were very disturbing when cleaning especially if you were trying to have a nap or a long sleep in the morning! The price we were quoted was not the price we paid-tax, lockers, baggage fees inflated the price hugely. There were some positives and i would also like to make these known. There was a good atmosphere in the hostel, very easy to meet people. Decent food and sociable staff, especially Jeff and Doug. Good nights out and good parties organised. I do appreciate the work of the hostel and i do realise that it is a busy hostel and it is hard to keep everyone happy. I have to say it was one of the best hostels that we were at during our five-week tour of america and that is largely down to the atmosphere at the hostel and the type of travelers that we met during our stay. My advice is to stay at this Hostel if you are looking to have a really good time and if you want to do loads of drinking and meet new people. If you are easily annoyed and looking to have a more relaxing holiday maybe this is not the hostel for you. We enjoyed it and overall it was an enjoyable experience. — Irish boys , irish (2009-07-18)
If there were a rating lower than Poor i'd choose it! Me and my three girlfriends (all chill/fun/easygoing girls) got to the hostel after three nights on the road from Boston/New York, so we weren't expecting the Ritz by any means, but we were not prepared for what we arrived to. Unclean rooms, filthy bathrooms, stains on the sheets, and feebly-locking doors. We felt unsafe and uncared for as soon as we walked through the "door." We did not feel that the accommodations were worth the outrageous money they charged for the conditions! We spent four hours in the lobby being ignored and mocked for being unhappy there, all we wanted was a refund and to be on our way, we didn't want to cause a scene or disrupt anyone else's stay. The "manager" was incredibly rude, and sat behind a glass door pouting at us the whole time, rather than handling the situation politely and professionally like a manager should Barbara was awful, she yelled back at us and told us to basically eat it! After four ours and us finally deciding to suck it up and pay fees at two places (A nice hotel around the corner) she called to tell us we had to pay for one night, but could not stay there. we lost out money for the first night, but actually ended up saving a lot of money in the long run, and also a lot less stress. I would not recommend that anyone stay there, the staff are rude and the accommodations are awful, gross, scummy, and unsafe!
Response from the Hostel: "This guest did not stay not even one night at our hostel, they wanted to cancel the reservation the day of, before even arrived. Since we told them they would have to pay a fee to cancel, they got really mad and wrote a bad reveiw. All things said in this reveiw are not true, as the guest did not even stay in our hostel. They were charged a no show fee." — Alisha , USA (2009-04-27)

Fun, good deal This place is everything you need. Rooms are decent, bathrooms are clean, but the reception area is the number one. You can hang out and socialize with so many people, it like a lounge where you can drink and have fun. Location is a big advantage like a block from beach and also a block from Mango's, the hottest latino nightclub, really famous, super girls. You also can park your motoscooter in front of the hostel most of the times. it's a great place. The staff is awesome! I will go there again. — AUREL IFRIM , Romanian (live in New York) (2008-10-08)

Best location, slow staff, dirty rooms and bathrooms Do not use the company that the hostel recommends you to use to travel to Orlando. Those unprofessional and rude people left us alone at the park, and it took us forever to locate our luggage, anyway we had to rent a hotel in Orlando and pay the taxi to go back to Miami! It was horrible! Tais was the only helpful person in the hostel, others were very slow and looked like they did not know what they were doing! They couldn't even provide us with the phone number they used to reserve our trip, it took them about two hours to find it! — OLGA , KAZAKHSTAN (2008-05-12)

Was a must!!! I love it Is not five stars this hostel deserve is six. A really big Thank You. the place is really great, Charlie, the french guy is a very helpful and hard worker and is always smiling, he make my staying even more pleasant. I recommend this place very highly to everyone. If I stay again in Miami I will only go back there. — berlintraveler , germany (2008-03-07)

The best one I stay in different hostels in the U.S., but the Miami Beach International Travellers Hostel was from far the best one. Clean, Friendly, and the best location in Miami Beach. The staff is really great, in particular Charlie, this the best, very helpful and he will make you feel home. I will go back there. — jerome , France (2008-01-22)

Party hostel This is a party hostel in the heart of the nightclub scene in South Beach. It is a great place to go to live it up for a few nights, but it can be quite noisy, so bring your earplugs. The lobby was very nice and great place to meet people, although the rooms are run down. There seemed like a good mix of travelers when I was there, although there a number of people who had obviously stayed there way too long. It is 1/2 block from club Mansion and a few blocks from the beach. weak breakfast (small bread pieces, butter, jam). — nov , USA (2008-01-04)

The best hostel that i have stayed! highly recommed to other travelers it was very clean, cheap, and the best location. The lobby is really cool, i met lot of people from other parts of world. great place if you are traveling by yourself. great pizza next door, and my favorite beach was right in front of the hostel on ninth street. the staff was very friendly and the renovation is really good, i stayed there in 2001. big change to now. finally i can say its the best hostel and the best location! — Lydia De Mares , Colombian (2008-01-02)
Worst to I used to worked in the hostel for a couple of month. Some rooms are pretty nice but most are in a horrible condition with roaches in every corner. The owner is a blond, blue eyed "wannabe model" and "gigolo" who does not care about his guests (except young girls) and the condition of the hostel at all. Also there are many drug dealers in the area offering drugs to hostel guests. Security is really weak. — Globetrotter , Germany (2007-11-13)

I am currently at the hostel, and I have enjoyed it so far -- the staff are nice and the room is decent. I have been here a week now and have not seen one roach! At the end of the day -- you can choose to pay $250 a night in a three-star hotel or $59 in this hostel. If your holiday consists of chilling in your room twenty-four/seven, don't come here, but if you have better things to do with your time, I think it is a bargain! Remember one thing, price reflects quality. — Els , British (2007-04-13)

I have a great time in that hostel. That's sure that it isn't the best one but if you search something which has a very good location, helpful craft (like Charlie), near the beach, shopping places, and important streets then I can prefer you that hostel. If you choose a room for only two people that can be better. Also they have different tours facilities that shows what you can do different in Miami. When you will go there if you want to pay less you mustn't expect everything well but you can have lots of fun. — Comments by Merve (2007-01-29)
i think this hostel is the worst, shittiest, dodgiest, smelliest, uninviting, unwelcoming hostel in the northern hemisphere and possibly the world. the only way i made it through two and a half weeks there was cos i was meeting my girlfriend and i drowned my sorrows nearly every night on cheap booze. the internet doesnt work, the kitchen is a serious health hazard, and the toilets and bathrooms are no better. i never once in my time there saw them getting cleaned. i just love going into the toilet especially in the morning and it smells like someone has pissed everywhere. Do not stay here. — sam from western australia (2007-01-15)
This was the worst hostel i have ever stayed at and completely ruined my stay in Miami. Do not stay here! Rude, unhelpful staff and dirty, scungy rooms. The kitchen had just been shut by the fire department, cockroaches everywhere, and a guy in the next room had to swap rooms because of the bedbug bites. The next night they had filled the room again only for the same to occur. I hated it. — Anto (2006-10-28)
