A fun hostel with good facilities in the center of Berlin. It's located in the Mitte, which is an area of Berlin known for its nightlife. There are clubs nearby, and of course a 24 hour doner kebap around the corner. There is a metro stop just a couple blocks from the hostel.

The hostel is bright, colorful, and clean. There is a nice common area which includes a pool table and a sitting area, and drinks are available at the front desk. The mood of the place is fun and friendly and it's a good place to meet people. There is a club downstairs, but it's separate from the hostel. The rooms vary in size, but the main dorm rooms are large with a lot of open space. The showers have private dressing areas and there is a bench and hooks to put your clothes on (a rarity in hostel showers). Their internet terminal is over priced, but there is a cheap internet cafe nearby if you ask about it at the desk.

I loved staying here. It was years ago (2001) but it still ranks as my favorite hostel. rooms were clean, lockers were plentiful, and the staff was friendly. check out the walking tours.

The first time i went to Berlin i spent hours looking for somewhere to stay and by the time i ended up here in the evening i was tired and fed up and wanted to go home. They had 1 bed left! I was so happy! The bloke on the desk was very helpful and said if they'd been full they would have called round other hostels to find a bed. I stayed in a dorm the first night, and a single room became available for the rest of the nights. It was clean and the staff gave lots of information about what to do and where to go, which i needed as it was my first time in Berlin. They recommended a walking tour which i too would recommend very highly. I would have gone back to this hostel again, but the next time i went to Berlin was in the July and it was booked up. They made my first time in Berlin memorable, and made me keep on going back. Awesome place.

This is the only place i stayed in Berlin, but was it ever fun... The hostel is ideally located within walking distance to The brandenburg Gate which is the starting point of all the free walking tours... make sure to try them out... also make sure to do the pub crawls which starts not far from the hostel and garantees you a great night with tons of travellers from all the other hostels...there is a Thai food stand just outside the hostel and the food is very good and cheap... plus cheap internet right around the corner... Clubhouse had great service, great accomodations, and you can drink and smoke (yess weed too) in the common room with no problem, this place is a solid choice... make sure to have a big Berliner for me...Dan was here July 2004

It is okay. Don't expect too much. But the rooms are spacious; no bunk beds at least.

I stayed here in fall of 1999 and what sold me on it (besides the fact that my friend was already staying there) was that each bed, bunk or not, had a little reading lamp. It was smart. It has friendly people, it's close to Tacheles Haus for that shooting-fire-at-the-bar need, and it's also close to the U and S bahns.

Pretty damn cool hostel. I love it that the alternative Tacheles (gallery/club/beergarden/etc.) is nearby, but the rest of Mitte is getting too damned yuppy for my taste. That doesn't matter, the tram and subway are nearby to take you to better clubs down the street. I give this fun place a big thumbs up!
