4 Great location
The dorm area is vast and clean. The location is awesome, two minutes from the Plaza, three minutes from the ferry pier. There's an outside kitchen upstairs as well as a common area. Each dorm room is supplied a vast locker (was able to store personal backpack and dive gear and still have room) with lock key. Many services surround the hostel -- internet two doors down, scooter rental, and restaurant with very good breakfast right in front, dive shop a corner away. If you're a diver, and most guests that I met there during my stay were, there's a place in the dorm beside the bathroom to hang your wetsuit. I'm going back to Coz in April and for sure will stay at Hostelito again.

3 It's ok -- been in much worse
It was not bad. the only real thing i did not like -- there was no cold water in the shower. it was boiling hot in all the mens showers. i didnt check the girls showers. after a day in the hot sun i would jump in the shower only to be burnt even more. i would have to use the sink cold water. the showers were way too hot. the bunks were ok, didnt smell different then any other hostel i been to. people talk about smells -- any place this large with that much foot traffic will smell a place up. all in all it was ok, not bad. you do get you own key for the front door to go as you please, that was cool. the area is also very safe. i was out drinking half the night for four days while i was there. never one saw a problem or felt unsafe -- it's cozumel. 2007 crime rate was less than 2%.

1 Cheap But Smells is Dirty and in Unsafe Area. Staff Unprofessional.
Stayed here -- did not prefer the area because it was unsafe and sketchy at night. Accommodations not great, smelled, and were dirty. Staff busy having party with friends and unprofessional.

5 I stayed at this place and I really enjoyed it, its cheap, clean and quiet and its located just round the corner from the main square where all the bars and restaurants are. The staff here were really helpful and friendly and they can help you sort out any tours you might want to do. All in all a great base to explore Cozumel from.
