Hostelz.com Guest Reviews
4  Centre Sukhumvit 25 hostel's website boasts that it is one of the best hostels in Bangkok, and examining its amenities and credentials, it would appear that this is the case. Certainly, with its well-equipped rooms, handy location, and breakfast at its own on-site Italian restaurant, the Hi hostel promises a lot, but it fails to deliver one important thing: personality. The great white walls of this hostel appear to be completely devoid of any kind of individuality or personality, but it is not a bad place to catch your forty winks. Located on Soi 25, near to a Sky Train station and within walking distance to a number of nice bars and restaurants, the hostel itself is on a quiet street. In fact, everything about the hostel is quiet: the "common room" (two couches in a blank white room) is always deserted, and while the outdoor veranda would be perfect for party-animals, we didn't see another guest during our entire stay. This hostel is not recommended for those backpackers travelling alone in the hope of meeting people along the way. Hermits, however, would probably have a very nice stay indeed. The rooms themselves are nice; more like hotels than the usual hostelling effort. The dorms are particularly swanky (relatively speaking!) with cable tv, hot showers, a fridge etc. Nicer still are the private rooms which would be quite suited to a three star hotel. Bathrooms are immaculate and well-equipped, and the beds are especially comfortable. If you choose to stay in Hi Hostel Sukhumvit 25, you may enjoy the bubble of peace and quiet within a city that it always too busy and always too loud, but to say you are experiencing the real Bangkok would be untrue, and sadly, this hostel is about as lively as a funeral.  , Scotland ()
5  Great this hostel is clean, people are friendly and can speak good english, and also very responsible staff. you can keep your valuables in the room and not worry about it being stolen. there is even cable TV. its location is very good as it's near main road if you wanna catch a tuk tuk or a taxi and it's also near the BTS sky train or subway. the staff are very responsible and honest. there is a family mart within one minutes' walk away and there's massage parlours on soi 24 not far away. overall a great place to stay in!  , singapore ()
2  Antisocial box. It is clean. That I will say for it. But if you like hostels as a place to meet interesting people from around the world, don't stay here. There isn't even a common area! I hated this hostel. What's more, they don't even provide towels, which would be forgiven if they weren't an HI hostel. but if you're paying that extra little bit for an HI hostel, you expect to at the very least be provided with a towel, not to mention a room for you to meet other travelers. Stay away.  , Canada ()
5  I loved it. Away from the backpackers' area, it makes you feel in Bangkok. It's really clean, quite, people are friendly. It looked pretty new. Good price. You get a tasty breakfast (included) at the close Italian restaurant Pizza Aroy where people are super friendly as well and the food is excellent. You can decide to have a great meal there at any time of the day. Tha subway/skytrain is close, there's the Soi Cowboy area nearby, if you decide you like this kind of entertainment. Lot of massage shops (ask Luigi from Pizza Aroy) all around. There's even a gym two minutes away if you decide you need sport.  , Italian ()
