5 If you visit Hervey Bay, this is the place to go!
It is a very clean and friendly hostel. Clean kitchen, very clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, and good washing facilities. Not much to do in Hervey Bay in the evening, but sitting around in the wonderful TV-room (excellent and loads of DVDs to choose from) or have a (cheap) drink inside the hostel. Staff is always friendly, especially the manager. He was a tourguide on Fraser for several years, so he is the best person to book your Fraser Tour. Would come back here every time. And it really looks like on the pictures above.

3 Not bad, not great.
Friendly staff and cleanliness the highlights at Next Backpackers. The place is a little too big and results in it feeling a bit soulless, but the kitchen is good and there's a huge selection of free films to watch. The dorm we were in was totally cramped -- a room with three bunks. Too small for six people plus bags. We were even woken at 6 a.m. one morning as the hostel had checked in three people off the night bus. The people were as quiet as they could be, but we weren't impressed at this early check in policy, especially when we found out through chatting to the staff the next day that the hostel was "fairly quiet" and there were other rooms free, which could have easily seen early arrivals use.

3 Great Accommodation
The hostel was definitely one of the best I've ever stayed in. The rooms were spotless and the beds were brand new. The staff were brilliant -- even though they were full, they put five of us in a seven-person dorm to ourselves with no extra cost. The manager was a legend and helped us a lot with finding the cheapest way to do fraser island in a day by calling in favours to his friends. However our room had no curtains on the window, which seems really petty but meant we were waking up at 6 most mornings. Another thing which was annoying was the kitchen was absolutely tiny and the appliances weren't the best. And although there is a bar, its really expensive and means you can't drink your own booze in the hostel. Other than that, its a great place to stay!

5 Wow
This is a great place to stay. Where else do you find shiny clean wooden floor in the rooms, great kitchen facilities, and extremely friendly staff. I loved it. Clean and new, a great location.

5 Fantastic hostel -- nice and clean
Very nice and new backpackers in Hervey Bay. Friendly staff and helpful even when we checked in at 9:30 p.m. They even kept the kitchen open late for us. Fraser Escape has a tour desk on-site and they are the best value for self drive 4x4 on Fraser Island.

5 The best hostel we've been to! very nice and competent people at the reception. Everything is clean and friendly. The kitchen is wonderful. You have everything and everything is clean! Can you imagine to eat from a plate with a matching fork and knife and drink out of a glass? We had the best time there!

5 brand-new, clean, and comfortable place to stay. the guy who works there is a former tour guide on Fraser island and he can give you a really great insight to tours and the island itself. hostel itself is just amazing and the price is so cheap for what they offer. since I started traveling (six months), this is the best hostel I have stayed at.

4 This place is great. It's brand new with all spanking new modern conveniences from the kitchen to the plasma screened, leather sofa TV room. The staff are really friendly and helpful and all for a great price. Also they have Yum Yum Thai restaurant down the road which serves great Thai food. Highly recommended.
