Awesome!
when i stayed here in June the other woman had been sacked and removed from the premises. Now there is a lovely couple running the place and again from what the other person has said they seemed to of really turned things around. They now no longer charge for the sheets to be washed, they have started to really clean the place up and the even do a home cooked meal on a sunday afternoon/evening where they charge between $3 and $6 for a meal and its all made from scratch. best lasagne and roast chicken i've had in OZ so far! I had such fun at blue tongue -- its more a big family than a big money making hostel. Chris and Jodie, keep up the good work guys, see you in three months after the hell of fruit picking!

Appalling service, underhand rip-off charges
Don't stay here! I have never written a review before but in this instance I simply have to. If you arrive after 3 p.m. when the office closes you'll get pinged a late fee -- most travelers turn up late afternoon. Thats rip-off one. Wash your own sheets (you also pay to use their detergent and washing machine) or have your credit card charged an $10 laundry charge. I'm not making this up. I prebooked but upon arrival I wasn't booked in. The woman at the desk tried to blame yesterday's staff but unfortunately for her she has a distinctive accent with slightly unusual speech pattern which I clearly recognised. Meanwhile my credit card details given over the phone must have been floating around lost on some random bit of paper, nice, not happy about that. I paid ten dollars (plus late fee all cash with no receipt -- I wonder what the ATO would think of that?) to sleep in the lounge. But there were also seven other overbooked guests so the sofas had all been claimed. tried the smokers gazebo outside, ok and the sofa there until it became the party place. Ended up sleeping on the laundry floor. yes the place is dirty, fridge too small, apathetic staff. I've been around this planet twice now and this is the first time I've ever found somewhere that bad I felt the need to write about it. Blue tongue is that place. Stay away, seriously.

Fabulous place to stay, the friendliest, most welcoming hostel I've stayed in in ten months in Australia. Comfy lounge with heaps of films to watch, brilliant staff and a chilled out atmosphere. There's also a nice back yard with possums that visit at night. A nice relief from over priced hyped up "five-star backpacker resorts."

Do not stay at this hostel! absolute dump and the facilities are shocking. i wouldn't even let a dog live in it! management is crap as the manger is constantly pilled in and doesn't know what planet he is on. avoid this place at all costs, please!
