They sent me an email regarding their observations of my comments. It re-establishes the truth behind my claims. First off, website claims the dorm room holds two guests but when I reviewed the room there was six beds. Second, I reserved a single room but when I came they stated it was taken already and tried to give me the dorm room. I cannot have a sense of security from their location and doubt anybody else could either. Do they honestly think the location is safe for female travelers coming back in the evening? Also, a traveler needs to be able to lock away his or her belongings, mere trust of other travelers not taking their belongings or them suggesting it is "the happy hostel" doesn't re-insure their doubts. Third, structural improvements and mandatory cleaning should be on the top of their priorities list. I was surprised I didn't fall through the floor or wasn't eaten alive by roaches. Actually I did find other hostels in Taipei that offer a much better deal and had clean locations, with security. If they want to attract more customers and have returned visits then they should follow their competitors. You will be amazed by the power of "word of mouth." Let's face it, their business did not meet my expectations, nor did it comply with what was offered on website. Also the photos were outdated.
