5 Best Hostel in the world!
The Oasis is an excellent hostel. The two buildings are very charming and all the rooms are always kept very clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Although it's a hostel you get the feeling that you're at home. I've never stayed in a better hostel. Just great!

5 The Best
I have stayed in many hostels and this is one of the best. The location is not bad. Very hilly streets. There is a smallish park overlooking the harbour. You can sit there and watch the locals while having a beer. That was so relaxing just sitting in this park. The staff were so helpful in every request. Great suppers and only 5 euros and cooked by a Portuguese lady. I would stay there anytime.

5 I've just arrived home from three nights at The Oasis in Lisbon and I have to say that it is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. The hostel is decorated in a very stylish, contemporary and modern way, giving it the feel of a boutique hotel! Having only opened in 2006 all the walls still have a freshly painted feel about them and the dorms are really comfortable with thick mattresses and substantial wooden bunk bases, none of that squeaky metal crap! There is a bathroom on each floor, and they are quality with a choice of power type shower, or one of those huge shower heads, which feels like you are being rained on! The staff are truly amongst the friendliest and most helpful I have ever met working at a hostel. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were always on hand to answer any questions. The clincher, or feather in the cap of this place though is the food and drink! They run a happy hour from 8 to 9 p.m., serving cocktails at 2 euros a go, while the food, cooked and served by an authentic Portugese Mama, is absolutely blinding! You will usually have a main meal and pudding for only 5 euro each! A very decent place indeed -- I'll be back this September, that is for sure!

5 Of all the hostels I have stayed in (over forty) this is right up there with the best. The big common room (with very comfortable seating and free internet access), dining area and kitchen make socialising easy, which is always good when traveling solo and nice big, clean bathrooms which come as a relief after weeks spent in hostels with varying standards. There were free Portuguese classes and nice, home-cooked meals and beer served up at reasonable prices every evening which again made everyone get to know each other well and it really did feel like a home away from home. The only small downside is that it's a little tricky to find but it is within a few minutes walk of the main nightlife in the city (Barrio Alto) and Lisbon is small enough to ensure that it isn't an issue. Stay here if you can.
