BEDBUGS!!! There were bedbugs in several of the rooms affecting many guests and nothing was done about it. I caught an infection from the bites and ended up paying to see a doctor, for blood tests and for steroids and antibiotics. It ruined my stay as i was covered in red itchy blisters. i was offered nothing by the hostel. Also the tours are found cheaper in the next road, rip off on all accounts. I met some great people there, it was a shame it could not have worked out better — Hayley (2010-03-22)

I went backpacking all over Asia for four months staying at a large variety of hostels and the Phuket Backpacker was by far the best! The staff are very friendly and accommodating (putting myself and my girlfriend up at Christmas for a week with no reservation). The hostel was always clean and comfortable with well-furbished common areas. Anyone thinking of staying in Phuket I would recommend here above anywhere else. — Scott , England (2007-04-20)

Phuket Backpacker is awesome. This was our first time backpacking and we loved it! It is so clean, safe, and the location isnt too bad -- there is bus stop right out the front which takes you to Patong, Kata, and Karon for only 25 Bart.. but its a thirty- to forty-minute hike! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and kept the place in great condition. Met some really nice people while staying there as well. All in all its a great place! — Kelly (2007-01-26)
