2  Sketch neighborhood, only slightly cheaper than many better ones The lock-out time is a pain, and the neighborhood made me feel uneasy. While its not the most unsafe place I've ever stayed in, there are other hostels in Tokyo with safer locations that offer better services for around the same price. This may not be an issue for some people, but during my semester long stay in Japan this was the only time I felt unsafe. I was traveling with another group of young women, and we all felt the need to be extra cautious during our walk to and from the hostel, despite the fact that we were well-traveled within the country's urban areas. Although there is not much the staff or owners can do to improve this situation, I feel it is still important to know if you happen to be considering staying there. Unless you're unable to cough up an extra couple hundred yen or so per night, there are other cheap hostels with better kitchens, social atmospheres, and other amenities.  , USA ()
5  Great, chilled out, friendly, clean Great place to stay and meet other people, very clean, staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Good location -- five- or ten-minute to the nearest station and twenty-five-minute walk to Asakusa. The only bad thing is the lockout between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., which isn't great for hangovers but it's ok -- you get through it eventually!  , England ()
5  This place is truly imaculent! Super nice, super clean, super relaxing. This place has the best showers i have ever experianced in my life. It is really cheap compared to other places and when i was there our 12 bed dorm had no more than 4 people in it each night we were there. Everything is paid for electroncally and the only way get in after hours is a code.  ()
3  I stayed here for 2 nights in August 2006. Its situated in a suburb about 10 mins tube ride from the centre of Tokyo. The hostel is quite small with only about 20 beds in 4 or 5 rooms. Its all very modern and clean, the staff are friendly and speak English. However, there is absolutely no atmosphere in this hostel because it is too small and there is only a tiny commual area with a microwave (no plates/cutlery) and no proper kitchen!! If you want just a cheap room to stay in Tokyo, then it is fine; but if you want to have a good time and meet people then stay somewhere else.  ()
