Description

Alpine Motel and Backpackers Lodge is in the heart of Ohakune township, only minutes walk from shops, bars, cafes, banks, picture theatre and ski hire.

We can offer both Motel accommodation ranging from smaller studio units to larger family units and chalets aswell as Backpackers accommodation in our lodge.

We have "Sassi's" Restaurant on site, open 7 days from 7am - 10am for breakfast and Monday to Saturday evenings from 6pm for dinner. We offer an exstensive a la carte menu and a cosy friendly dining atmosphere.

Mountain transfers can be arranged.

Very small and cold
I am sorry to say that my first impression was not great. We arrived to a freezing cold hostel (windows open all over the place), with no hot water in showers. The bedding provided was inadequate, and we should have been better informed regarding bringing our own bedding. The people we met there was the only great highlight, in a rather dismal hostel/backpacker setting. Not what I was expecting for that price range, especially comparing to other hostels in area, and the cheaper prices they offer per night.
