2  Rotten eggs and pushy personnel We arrived in the hostel in february (so this review is a little late) and although most people seem to be satisfied with this hostel, our experience was not so great. The rooms are nice and it is nice that there are movies in the common room (however you cannot watch them because the personnel is constantly asking if you want to do tours, which you can easily do yourself). In Xian we needed to arrange our visa extension and the hostel gave us the necessary papers for application. Since this process is taking some days, we wanted to stay for some days in the hostel and we told the reception but we were forced or either to move to a more expensive room or to leave. I dont think this is good service. For breakfast I was served rotten eggs. We didnt like the hostel and left thus after one night.  , Netherlands ()
5  Outstanding! Stayed here for 7 nights and didn't want to leave, it was 100 times nicer than our Beijing apartment! Beautiful and relaxing courtyard, common room with games, nice restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, everything was clean, and Bigo the friendly beagle! Rented solid bikes for 10 yuan/day. A staff member met us at the train station and walked us to the hostel, about 15 minutes. Only problem I could imagine is you have to go through the courtyard, and therefore outside, to get to the bathrooms. Didn't affect us since we had nice weather but could be inconvenient. Overall I loved every minute at this hostel and would recommend it to everyone!  , Canada ()
5  Wow! Hands down the best hostel I've ever stayed at (and I travel a lot). We booked a private and a couple of nights in a dorm and found everything to be clean and comfortable. The feeling of the place is great! It's relaxing and pleasant. They have hot showers, bathrooms, laundry, and a restaurant with tables and cheap beer/tea/food. It's close to the Rail station and if you let them know ahead, someone will pick you up and walk you to the hostel. Highly Highly recommend it. Doing the Terra Cotta Worriers on your own is easy. In the morning, before 11 a.m., take the bus to the site (the hot baths are on the way). You can then get off, do your thing, and come back to catch the bus back. Just ask at the front desk what bus to take. The site takes two or three hours, the drive there and back about an hour.  , USA ()
4  A good place; nice; well located; staff friendly, available, and always ready to help you. The bathroom could be improved and the room are a bit noisy (not from the street bur from people passing by), but this hostel is honestly a good place.  , France ()
5  Beautiful Hostel, friendly, and very helpful staff. We enjoyed our two weeks there even if we had not expected to stay so long!  , Germany ()
5  I really liked it here. The hostel itself is a renovated army barracks, so although the rooms may look austere to some, to others it adds to the character. The staff here were truly excellent. they met me from my train and took me to the hostel. They were also an excellent source of advice about Xi'an and it's surrounds. Good location too -- close to both the train station and the city centre attractions (Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and Muslim Quarter).  , UK ()
5  the concept of home influenced my trip to the unforgettable.  ()
5  Fantastic relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff, great food and near all the important facilities without busy noise. I'll be back here, for sure. Thanks so much to the traveller who gave me the promotional flyer for this hostel. Thanks to all the staff at 7 Sages for making my stay a comfortable one.  ()
