At first, the general perception of this hostel was most certainly a different one compared to all the other hostels we have stayed in. It's a nice small "flat" where all the travelers stay and use the shared facilities and is easily a nice and decent enough place to stay for at least one night. The general management of the hostel is somewhat haphazard. Its quite difficult to find the manager, and if you are planning on just turning up and hoping for space, i wouldnt bother, because you will not find him, and there are better hostels to stay in Shepparton for a lower rate. If you are looking for fruit picking work, then contact the farms direct, as this hostel will help you search for work -- well they will go to the harvest centre in Shepparton for you and find out what work is available and let you know. I would recommend that you only pay for your accommodation in either daily or double night quantities, as you are most likely to find work where they provide accommodation and if you pay for a weeks' accommodation here, then they will not refund any of the money. I know this makes good business sense, but maybe the management need to advise the backpackers that people who arrive here generally find work where accommodation is provided quite quickly.
