Runa Pacha is located in a renovated Inca building on Calle Sin Nombre, which runs off the main plaza in Ollantaytambo. The hostel has a single room for backpackers, with a variable number mattresses on the floor depending on how many are needed. Bedding includes blankets and pillow but not sheets, so bring your own sleeping bag and/or sleeping sheet. The mattresses themselves have seen better days but are neverthess comfortable. Light sleepers should however be warned, the backpackers room is upstairs opposite the local discotheque, which, although far from crowded, has a high powered sound system and late license. This makes earplugs a useful companion for a good night sleep. The bathroom is located down the hallway and includes a hot (electric) shower.
Breakfast isn't included in the price, but is available. There´s no formal guest kitchen onsite. However, the management are extremely helpful and, if one asks nicely, it may be possible to use the main kitchen to prepare simple meals and/or to store fruit and other items.
Internet isn't available at this hostel -- there isn't even a phone line. Outside, there is a nice sunny courtyard, and inside there are several areas to sit and relax. The building itself dates back to Incan times and, although heavily renovated, still retains some features from that time, making it unique as a hostel. The atmosphere here is relaxed and welcoming, in keeping with the overall feel of Ollantaytambo.
