The Hostelz.com Review
The Liverpool International Inn is very conveniently located -- down a small lane just off busy Hardman Street. It's also just a short stroll away from many of Liverpool's attractions (the Philharmonic is just down the road, as is L.I.P.A) and is about a ten-minute walk from the centre of town.

The hostel is big and spacious -- the lay-out is very well spaced out so despite its size there is a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The dorm rooms are also generously sized and have a toilet/shower room included. There are no lockers provided but you can give valuables to reception to mind. There is also a washer/dryer (for a small fee) but unfortunately this was out of order. There is an internet cafe next door which charges a reasonable fee per half hour (although in town you can use the internet for free at the main library).

At the end of the long hall of the International Inn is a shared kitchen (free coffee/tea/toast) with cooking facilities, and next door to this is a large common room with a TV, pool table, and table-soccer to keep you entertained. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there reception is staffed twenty-four hours.

The hostel is moderately clean -- the common room and the kitchen see the worst of the mess, and while the bathrooms are tatty and a bit worn-down, they aren't too bad. All in all, the International Inn is a friendly and well located place to stay and good value for money.

5  Very nice and clean, staff were great I stayed at this hostel in the middle of October of 2009. I made a reservation for two days. After seeing the hostel in person/walking around Liverpool for a couple of hours, i asked to stay two extra days [four days total]. It was just off a main road and it was close to the town centre, but was also didnt have noise off the streets at night. I stayed at fifteen different hostels on my European vacation and i have to say that the staff at the International Inn were some of the nicest and most helpful people that i met on the trip. Even the cleaning staff were friendly and offered advice on where to go. A staff member, who i think was named Roo, was full of great advice of places to walk around. Liverpool itself is a great town to walk around in. It has a lively nightlife [i was there on a weekend]. But it wasnt just a bunch of drunken debauchery [which sadly i found in some British cities]. It simply was full of people enjoying themselves. Do yourself a favor and stay here more than one day. Liverpool is a great town, there's more to it than just the Beatles tours. Overall i had an entirely positive experience at this hostel and i hope to return someday.  , USA ()
1  Worst ever I don't want to be mean, but it was the worst hostel I ever stayed in. It was expensive (22 pounds!) with unfriendly people and far away from the city centre. We stayed there one night, were glad to leave because it was dark (with a building site outside our window) and smelly and you felt like being in the underground, there was no light or fresh air. and one toilet for one room, no lockers.  , Germany ()
5  It's surely no seven-star hotel, but neither is the price. Very good location, from where its only walking distance pretty much to anywhere. Friendly stuff and very good social rooms (kitchen with everything, living room with billiard table, TV). Special thanks from free toast and tea. Surprised positively to notice that hostels prefers fair trade trademarks. We highly recommend!  ()
5  Fantastic! Very clean, quiet, plenty of common space (TV room with pool table, etc., and kitchen with free toast, tea and coffee). All rooms had private bathrooms. Very close to center of town (about a five-minute walk), and there are lots of take-away shops and pubs close by.  ()
5  Excellent hostel. I have stayed in hostels, both YHA and independent, and this knocks the socks off them all. Staff are excellent and friendly (even though Miss Silcock is a Liverpool supporter, but hey, we all have our problems). The hostel is well run and I can't commend it highly enough.  ()
5  Brilliant stay. This place has very friendly and helpful staff, free flowing tea and coffee, pool table, clean and comfortable rooms, no curfew, and it's close enough to the center to stagger home at all hours. It's got good security, new and cheerful decor, and it's generally excellent. Good vibes. Though there was only one pool cue and it was a kid-sized one. But with all the rest of it in there, we weren't too bothered about the pool cue!  ()
5  Great hostel. It's in a good location, with clean rooms and bathroom. Nice kitchen, nice common room. And all-you-can-eat toast and tea all day!!!  ()
5  This hostel is great. Everything is really clean, the beds are VERY comfortable, there is a bathroom in every room, the common room is really nice, the staff are friendly and you can have toast, tea and coffee all day.  ()
4  This was a great place to stay in Liverpool! It has good facilities and good beds, nice people and a good atmosphere! Special greetings to "Jeff" (Robert) the Irishmen/Everton-supporter, from the boys from Holland!!  ()
4  Everything was pretty great. The building and rooms looked new. The rooms we were in were minimal though; it was small for 2 people, but had a good shower. The bad thing was the room had only beds as furniture and nothing else, but there wasn't much room for anything else. There was a heater, too. The room walls had a few marks here and there, but otherwise it looked clean enough. The location is great, with lots of things around the corner. The price seemed a BIT high, but nothing too horrible. BTW: If you're going to view some of the Beatles' houses, remember to book in advance. :P  ()
