Description
Situated in one of the most convenient and quaint neighbourhoods of Beijing, The New Dragon Hostel offers what budget-minded tourists want most:
Convenience:
A short two-minute walk from the bustle of Beijing's vibrant city life, The New Dragon Hostel offers very close proximity to the main sightseeing and shopping attractions in Beijing's downtown core; including Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City and Beijing's ultra-modern stores and older, traditional open-door, street-side shops and stalls. The New Dragon Hostel can be reached quickly and inexpensively, in about 20 minutes. The New Dragon Hostel also offers its guest’s 24-hour access.
Ambiance:
The New Dragon Hostel is a quiet, spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-serviced facility - with the added bonus of being on a well-shaded, tree-lined lane that has preserved the feel of historical Beijing.
Economy:
Our rates for single, double, triple and standard or deluxe rooms are a fraction of what a large hotel would cost in Beijing. Moreover, unlike some hostels whose facilities are limited by their low room rates, The New Dragon offers most of the amenities any traveller would expect from a full-service standard hotel, as well as a super-economical dormitory service.
Amenities:
At The New Dragon Hostel you will have, in private rooms, a private shower and toilet, cable TV, air-conditioning, room phone, courtesy toiletries, fresh towels and bedding daily, secure card-locked access-all in addition to amenities and services available to all guests: international and local telephone service, free Internet access, inexpensive beverages and snacks, travel and tour booking services, recreation room, common room and English-speaking staff who can help you with any and all of your Beijing and China travel plans
Peace of Mind:
In addition to security features within each room, The New Dragon Hostel has 24-hour staff service and supervision at reception and on upper floors.

New Dragon International Hostel Reviews on Other Websites
the general position is in the center, but the position of the hotel is very difficult to find for me or for the taxi driver, and there wasnot any pick-up from the hotel.   — Jing, China (2011-12-18) Hostelsclub
4 I thought the location on the Hutong was very good.   — Timothy E Shelley (2011-12-01) Hostelbookers
4 It is very well located, in a nice quieter street near a very busy city center. Also, it was a very cheap dorm, one of the cheapest in China I've found. There is a hotel upstairs and I think, the hostel, although more expensive has better standards.   — Customer review (2011-11-11) Hostelbookers
1 I had to take the taxi back from a show that I wanted to see. I was supposed to be picked up and dropped off, however, I was the only one going. So they paid for my taxi. When the taxi was more than what they gave me, I showed the receipt and they reimbursed me. They also rebooked me for a tour since my original tour guide "forgot" to pick me up the morning of my tour.   — Customer review (2011-11-10) Hostelbookers
15 min walk to railway station and 5 mins to excellent subway station. My room was small and needed decorating. Helpful travel desk which was open until late. Restaurants within easy walking distance, generally value for money.   — stephen, England (2011-10-14) Hostelsclub
A single problem that shadowed any possible advantage: they just ignored my remark that our train will be late and gave our beds to other people. So we ended up in Neijing at 1 am with no place to sleep.   — Bartlomiej, Poland (2011-09-10) Hostelsclub
4 the location is best   — Kari Rautiainen (2011-06-29) Hostelbookers

4 I traveled with my mom so I love how close it is to the subway. They have free wifi at the basement bar and you can use their PCs for free. It is very cheap to stay here.   — Customer review (2010-11-28) Hostelbookers
3 Cheap with good location close to subway, restaurants and shops.   — Customer review (2010-11-11) Hostelbookers
4 location is very good. Very near to subway (walking distance less then 5 minutes). safe and very friendly staff. Near to shopping area and lots of restaurant and wet market. Near the traffic police station. The next trip to beijing, I will still choose to stay here. There is a small shop in front of the hostel which run by the staff, drinks are cheaper than other place... beer, orange juice etc.... I suggest those who wish to visit Great Wall to book the trip from the hostel... very reasonable price with great English speaking tour guide... value for money... provide private van and great lunch... Ask for discount if you are booking the family trip. Very good for family stay... we love the hostel   — Lai Hong Chin (2010-10-18) Hostelbookers

4 We stayed in a dorm, it was big and very tidy, with just 3 wood beds, with several sockets with international socket. The bathroom was ok, a bit smelly at night but ok. With hot water! They have tourism information desk and a cool bar.   — Customer review (2010-09-21) Hostelbookers

5  We stayed at New Dragon for a week and loved it, it became like home. All the staff are relentlessly friendly and helpful, the rooms were really clean and comfy, toilets were clean, and it was a great spot -- just ten minute walk from WangFuJing -- the main shopping area -- with a metro stop. It's situated in a quiet hutong where you can get the feel for daily life in Beijing when you walk up and down -- you get to see daily card playing rituals, the bike repair stall. we loved it.  ()
