Hostelz.com Guest Reviews
1  Dirty I wondered why there were only pix of downstairs on their website until I got there. The bedroom/bathrooms/kitchen/living area were filthy. No way I would recommend this place to anyone.  , Ireland ()
1  Bad, bad, bad worst hotel ever. don't ever come to stay here. it has really bad service, people doing drugs, and rats and mice all over the place! If you want to have the worst time of your life, stay here.  , mexico ()
1  Awful! This place was disgusting, it was infested with mice for a start, they were in and out all the rooms. The pretentious bar downstairs was really loud so it was impossible to sleep. Try not to check in late in the evening at the weekend as the bar manager downstairs is usually occupying the office doing drugs! On the upside the couple who worked there were great -- they were also backpackers and were always really friendly and helpful but they had day jobs too, so if you had a problem through the day there was nobody to speak to.  , England ()
5  This place is great! It's literally right on the waterfront, not even a five-minute walk to the beach itself, and as close to public transportation as you can get. It's also right next to a couple of great restaurants, and a quick ride to the city. The rooms are open, airy and uncrowded and include secure lockers. Shelly and Brock are great hosts, and offered plenty of helpful advice for getting around and exploring. Everything in this hostel was clean and well-kept, I couldn't ask for a better deal for the price!  ()
5  Truly the best hostel I've stayed in ever. Very well looked after and just a perfect location. Hope to come back here, the next time I'm in Melbourne.  ()
3  I stayed in this hostel with my friends from Oct. 23 to 25, 2005. We had a great stay, as the room was clean and comfortable. The best thing is this hostel faces the beachfront view and it was really nice. The bathroom and toilet are extremely big and clean, and the staff are helpful. The common room and kitchen were in the same room; you will get the kitchen smell when watching TV. But the kitchen was really messy, as some guests did not wash the utensils after using them. Be careful with the food and drink in the fridge, as we found some had already expired. This is a small hostel and you won't find it crowded like others. The location was good, as there was a tram station just next to the hostel. The environment was a bit noisy at night because the pub is located downstairs, and you can hear the tram passing by. Other than that it was a nice place to stay if you don't mind the noise at night.  ()
