Far from center but more than correct It is definitely not an hostel for socializing, but if you need to sleep somewhere it is definitely good, and the room I had was clean and functional. The problem would be that it is actually far from the center for a small town like Angers, but it is near the campus, and not far from shops. — Ana , france (2011-08-27) This has got to be the most awful hostel in the universe. This hostel is dreadful, it was horrifically filthy, especially the bedroom and the kitchen The hotel is very, very, very far from the town centre in an area of depressed looking uncared for high-rises. It is in a very quiet backstreet surrounded by administrative buildings - I would not walk around alone here, night or day. The next shop is miles and miles away, even by bike or car. Forget about walking distance. There seems to be adequate parking for car owners.
This seems to be a hostel for itinery workers more than for young travellers. Also families and persons seeking asylum seem to be accomodated here. The bedroom was spartanically furnished, the carpeting was almost soggy with ingrained dirt. The kitchen was a nightmare. An incredible stink almost physically hits you as you open the door. There are no cooking utensils or crockery provided. The only thing in the cupboards are the cockroaches. The bin was overflowing nevertheless. More than disgusting! The shower was ok. Toilets here like everywhere in France (one exception, les Echandes) are smelly.
There is one open-plane common room with some table games. No-one sozializes. There is no canteen or bar, just some dispensing machines with expensive soft drinks.
This is not a hosteller for the young traveller or backpacker. In fact, it is unsuitable for humans. It was not only hard to reach and find, it is also in an uninviting neighbourhood far away from any cultural or other locations even shops. Nevertheless, it is very noisy very early in the morning (cars outside, banging doors, revving engines), apparently it houses a lot of emmigrant workers who leave early for their jobs Highly unrecommendable in every respect. — Karen , Germany (2008-02-14)
