The hotel itself isn't that impressive, but Jim, the owner, totally makes up for it! He made the hostel completely feel like home, giving us tons of great information about the city, cooking us American breakfast, and just asking how our day was when we got back at night. He showed us exactly where to go and where not to go. Also, you can make free international phone calls through the computer, which is really, really awesome.

I was pleasantly surprised at the level of cleanliness and hospitality offered at Hostel August. I am grateful towards the management for there budget conscious rates and also there warmth and friendliness. This is not your average drunken college kid hostel. I could actually rest at night. When I return to Budapest, I will definitely stay at Hostel August.

Hi! We have to recommend this great hostel where we had the pleasure to stay in during the turn of the year! We loved it. Jim was really caring and made us feel comfortably, he does a great job.
We loved to come back into the always clean and just renovated "Lucky Lady" after exploring the city. We'll be back soon.
