HI - Bilbao - Blas de Otero Hostel Reviews from the Web
3 it was clean, nice rooms for a short-term stay. close to the city centre   — Customer review (2011-08-15) Hostelbookers
3 I like the fact that there was a computer area. Loved the free WiFi. Washing machines were downstairs.   — Jaime Ledesma (2011-07-06) Hostelbookers
5 Very nice and clean hostel. A little bit expensive, but quite close to the old part of the town.   — Customer review (2011-03-08) Hostelbookers
4 Excellent value for money full service accommodation in Bilbao. New, clean rooms, great kitchen and plenty of hot water for the shower. Historic city center within 5-10 minute walk.   — Ryan McGill (2010-08-26) Hostelbookers
2 Located in a very poor neighorhood, we heard police sirens during the whole night in front of our windows. Not a safe place, when standing outside the hotel smoking bums and junkies come asking for money the whole time.   — Customer review (2010-03-23) Hostelbookers
4 very new and clean, with own bathroom and kitchen. Location is a bit unpleasant for girls travelling alone.   — Karin Sundberg (2009-12-11) Hostelbookers
3 It was a nice place, clean and comfortable - but the neighborhood was kind of shady, I didn't go out at night because I really didn't feel safe.   — Customer review (2009-10-12) Hostelbookers
4 This was a good place to rest when not out in the city   — Customer review (2009-07-11) Hostelbookers
4 The hostel is very clean and tidy. I enjoyed the stay here as everything is included in the room, include kitchen. It like a hotel rather than a hostel, with room service as well. However, the atmosphere of the surrounding street seems uneasy and uncomfortable.Anyway, the good location deserved a stay.   — Customer review (2009-07-10) Hostelbookers
5 Really great value for the money. Location is at the end of "San Fransisco" street. Locals say it's a bad area, but I didn't have any problems. Sparkling clean and new facilities.   — Ryan McGill (2009-06-12) Hostelbookers
3 It was reasonable in price and close to the old city. You can catch a bus across the street from the train station and get there very easy. An okay place to stay. Breakfast included and was okay.   — Customer review (2009-05-19) Hostelbookers
5 ensuite showers etc and secure parking   — Customer review (2008-09-02) Hostelbookers
3 I had my own room, en suite with a kitchen. But it is not a place to meet people and party. But it suited me because I needed to do some washing and chill out before I carried on with my travels. However, it felt a bit scary when leaving the hostel at night, and there were reports that a girl had had her pc stolen from her car, and there seemed to be prostitutes working on the street.   — Louise Morgan (2008-08-17) Hostelbookers
5 everything you needed was in the room (cooker, pots, plate, cups)   — Customer review (2008-07-11) Hostelbookers
5 Relatively close location to old town, but in an area that doesnt look too friendly. Good clean facilities and cheap laundry. Free internet is a bonus. Good clean rooms with hygenic facilities.   — Michael Willcock (2008-07-05) Hostelbookers
5 great cleanliness, friendly staff and safe although the location was in an area that I did not feel so comfortable and safe.   — Paulo Roberto Borba da Silva (2008-06-29) Hostelbookers

5  This hostel is a residence for students during the year, but when the University of Bilbao is closed it's open for tourists. It's really new and the rooms are excellent and clean. The city center is near and it's very cheap: 21 euros a night per person in a double room during the feast of "Semana Grande." There is a free Internet point and a gym, too!!!  ()
