My friend and I picked this hostel blindly off the internet and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We had a smaller group of travelers so we didn't run into problems. Matt was helpful with navigation of the city and ran a laid back hostel. I enjoyed it and would go again.

I thought that the owner was very nice, but I must say I was disappointed with this hostel. He has noted "free car park;" well really he just shows you on a map a street two blocks away that has free parking Saturday to Sunday on one side of the street and Monday to Wednesday on the other. Well, with his "Free Parking" I got a ticket for $40 CDN — not cool. As well there is only one bathroom and shower and there can be up to 18 people in that place. There is no information about the city around except for old books that other travelers have left. The owner is fairly young and the "lounge room" is mostly taken up by him and his friend/girlfriend in the evenings as they watch French TV very loudly late into the evening. Like I said, I was pretty disappointed and would not recommend the place, although the beds were comfy and the place was clean.
