A good deal This is a nice place, very homey, although more like an old-style youth hostel than a backpackers joint. What really makes this place is the staff who are very friendly and welcoming and are a ready source of information about the surrounding area. It's located on the opposite side of Matsuyama city from the rail station and at the top of a hill -- so a bit of a trek when you first arrive, although tram no. 5 takes you from the station to the bottom of the hill. The best thing about the location is that it's a few minutes walk from Dogo Onsen hot springs bath, which you have to try when in Matsuyama. Overall it is certainly the best deal in town, but not for those looking for riotous parties.
