The Hostelz.com Review
Season Hostel is a very simple place, providing only the basics of everything. On stepping through the main entrance, visitors will find a flight of stairs leading up to the reception, which is a window in the wall, and a friendly staff member (either the owner or her son). A door to the right leads out to an open courtyard with tall untended grass, surrounded by the doorways that lead to the dormitories. Some of these doorways have showers and toilets attached (these are separated for males and females). Be prepared though, for the showers has neither doors nor curtains, except for the main door leading into the shower room!

The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious, but they lack cosiness. The room consists of bunk beds, a large table in the center with chairs, and a cupboard for each bed. There is a small crammed kitchen in the basement from the reception, made up of a microwave with two hot plates, a sink, two pots, and very few bowls and cutlery. Next to this is a huge dining area with several tables and plastic chairs. There is no lounge.

The plus point of this hostel is the friendly staff and its never-ending supply of free Budapest city maps and guides. The atmosphere is rather dead, but it is good enough if all you're looking for is a place to put up for the night.

Another thing to take note of is that it is quite hard to find the hostel. Donati Street is a long street and the hostel sign is small! So, if you are at Batthany Ter and looking for this hostel, walk towards Maria Ter adjoining the top of Donati Street, where there's a statue. The hostel is at the top of the street. Don't make the mistake of walking toward the middle of Donati Street and find that you have to walk all the way up again!
