Description
Welcome to TMax -n- Topo's Jackrabbit Hostel! We welcome anyone from a single wandering soul to a group of up to 33. We have 4 bunk-rooms (an eight bunk, a 6 bunk, and two 4 bunks.) for 22 bunks overall. There are 3 bathrooms/showers downstairs with the bunk-rooms. The ground floor has a very large kitchen, a dining area and sitting room. We have wireless internet and cable TV, or you can relax on our giant porch. Upstairs we have two motel rooms, one that sleeps up to six (four beds) and has a full kitchen and one that sleeps up to five (three beds) and has a small refrigerator, coffee pot, and microwave. Both private rooms have their own bathroom and shower.
We are located 11 miles from Whiteface Mountain ski area, which has the largest vertical drop in the east at 3166 feet, and just moments from several of the major trail-heads (Adirondack Loj road is 1/2 mile to the west) for hiking the Adirondack high peaks and some of the best ice-climbing in the area. TMax and Topo's is located just outside the village of Lake Placid, so you can relax on our three and a half acres while still only being two minutes away from the Olympic Village!
If you have any questions about us or the area, don’t hesitate to call and ask. If we do not have the answer, we will try to find it for you.

A Really Nice Place To Stay Stayed at the Hostel three times this year, and the stay was great. Dave and Terri are wonderful hosts, who make you feel welcome right until you are ready to walk out the door. The bunk rooms were clean and inviting. I was never a bunk room person, but those feeling departed quickly. You won't regret it. The prices are reasonable and soft on the wallet. A nice feeling to have when searching for a place to stay. Plus, you can check almost anytime without worry of being turned away. The first choice if you're traveling through the Lake Placid area. — Gerard01 , USA (2010-10-02)

Very Clean and comfortable Not just for large groups, I visited solo. Very large kitchen, you don't have to wait for others to be finished cooking. Comfortable beds. 3 showers. The new owners are very familiar with the area and dont mind taking time to help you plan your trips. — Tracy ADK 46er , USA (2010-06-05)

Clean rooms, warm hosts, and a wealth of information Spent two nights in the hostel in April. The new owners were friendly and full of information and excitement. They were real mountain climbing enthusiasts. Being April, it was the slow season, so there were not many guests. TMax and Topo treated me great and made me feel very welcome. My room was very clean and had a great atmosphere. Will go back and recommend to all my friends who want to explore that wonderful area. — Adirondack Hiker , United States (2010-05-25)
