This hostel is a great value. Bedrooms and bathrooms are spotless, sheets are included (but not towels), the showers are hot, and lockers are available (bring your own lock). There is no kitchen, but there are lots of cheap places to eat in the nearby Parque de la Cruz.
Depending on when you come, the hostel can be quite comfortable or crowded. If there are no groups, the rooms are fine, but when all the beds are full it seems like it would be quite tight. Also, because of the pool and other facilities, it's a bit noisy in the mornings, but not terrible.
The doors lock in the evening, but there is always someone there to let you in. If you know you will be coming back late it's a good idea to tell them so they know to expect you. If you are arriving late, you need a reservation because if no one is staying at the hostel no one will be there.
Overall the Hostel Villa Juvenil is a great bang for your buck.
