This hostel was shocking. Dirty bathrooms and showers. Our room had all sorts of problems. The free bus from the airport was not free and the staff don't speak any English, or chose not to around us.

This is the worst hostel I have ever been to. The bathrooms are absolutely filthy, there was no hot water, the sheets were dirty, the rooms were freezing and the lighting was very poor. The staff spoke very little English and tried to rip us off by charging three times the advertised price. Furthermore, Gezginci is not a real hostel. It's a few dirty rooms above a smoky restaurant. This area of Istanbul is full of hostels and all are within a five to ten minute walk from the train station and all the attractions. Don't ruin your vacation by staying here.

The bathrooms are quite horrible, but the breakfast is absolutely divine and the staff are super friendly. The location is perfect and it's dead cheap!

This is close to the train station and tourist attractions, but well worth avoiding for the short walk to Sultanahmet. It has nice enough bedrooms, but squat toilets and barely passable showers. Despite promises to the contrary, the staff do not speak English (which makes communication hard, and the atmosphere tense), and the 'hostel' does not accept travellers cheques, credit cards or local currency (from foreigners).
