5  Great! We stayed there in the end of july '08 and it was great to be there! the staff is very friendly, the rooms and the bathrooms are very clean! it's in walking distance from las ramblas and the city centre. it's really a great place to stay! there is free internet and huge DVD collection! it's not a party backpacker, which we enjoyed very much!  , Switzerland ()
5  Amazing -- very friendly and clean! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It is extremely clean and everything advertised was better than expected. Highly recommended!  , USA ()
5  This hostel is very very nice! Safe area (but near Plaza de Catalunia), great rooms, clean, very good breakfast. The owner works at the hostel too and knows everything about Barcelona. i would strongly recommend this place to stay.  ()
5  An extremely nice and comfortable place to stay. There is a nice atmosphere, nice travelers, it's very convenient and in a safe area. You can leave your things in the room unlocked and nobody takes any of your things! The staff are really helpful and the owners work here themselves. They seem very involved in the hostel and take care of it very well.  ()
3  This hostel earns an average rating in my opinion. The price is good and Barcelona is a great place to visit but there are two sides to every story. First of all, the directions provided by the hostel are the worst! Study a map before you arrive because if not, it will take you forever to find the hostel. The hostel is also in a fairly quiet part of town so if you're walking alone late at night be careful.(It's quite far from the subway, so you have to walk.) Secondly, there is a funny smell in the rooms of the hostel. I have no idea what it was, all I know is that it wasn't too pleasant. And last, but not least, the breakfast was the worst I've ever had. Gross fruit, powdered coffee, and several crackers. Bring your own food for sure!  ()
4  Good location for the price, and really friendly staff. Bathrooms and dorm rooms were okay, and the little terrace out back looked nice although we did not stay long enough to really use it. We actually weren't allowed to store our luggage after checkout on our last day, but that was a special circumstance as they were closing the hostel for a few days. Overall, a great deal and very hospitable.  ()
5  This hostel was the best I ever had. Enough of space for everybody, free Internet, small breakfast, nice people at the desk...really good choice. The six-bed room was nice, but next time I will choose the two-bed room, it was spacious, big and nice. Highly recommended, this hostel.  ()
5  PROS: Backpackers BCN is a GREAT hostel. The fact that this hostel only has 18 beds makes this place cozy and special. The staff members are friendly and very helpful. You can have your clothes washed and dried (full service) for a price or there is a sink designated for hand washing with a clothesline outside on the terrace. The Internet is free and almost always available because of the small number of guests at this hostel staying at one time. The kitchen is clean and stocked with the necessities. CONS: The free breakfast is nasty. They give you crackers, tea/coffee, and rotting fruit. The Internet PC is really old and slow. To enter the building, you have to have the worker there buzz you in at ALL times. OVERALL: I would recommend this place to ANYONE. This is one of the best hostels to stay at in all of Barcelona.  ()
5  This is a really nice, small and quiet hostel within walking distance to Placa Cataluyna. We stayed in a private room — it was really big and had loads of storage space. It was really clean, staff were really friendly and they gave good advice. Free Internet!!  ()
4  A very nice hostel. It's intimate and has the feel of a shared home. Very clean and secure. The staff are super friendly and will make your stay very enjoyable!! Enjoy.  ()
5  I strongly recommend this hostel. I have stayed in several hostels and this is the best one. It's in a very good location, it's clean, safe, has nice bathrooms and a friendly and helpful staff. There is a curfew, but it is good. It is very suitable for people who would like a clean and quiet place to sleep at night.  ()
5  Wow, what a great surprise this hostel was! It's easy to find, right in the center of Barcelona, clean, has free Internet, a great terrace, and Moses was very helpful helping us to learn the ropes of Barcelona. The curfew probably sounds lame to some, but for us it was not a problem. Thank you for helping us make Barcelona one of the most memorable stops on our two-month trek around Europe!  ()
5  This is a great little place. The Internet worked, there was plenty of cooking equipment in the kitchen to make a meal, and the staff were helpful (unlike many places). The showers and toilets were clean. There was a laundry tub available, or washing machine and clothes dryer for a charge, and plenty of clothesline in a good-sized, although sparsely furnished, courtyard. There is a short walk to the main drag, but the hostel is far enough away to be quiet. My only complaint would be that all talking in this place travels, maybe because there is no carpet, and if you are in room 2 or 5, next to office or lounge, you may not get to sleep before midnight if others are up and chatting. This has to be one of the better places I have stayed in my journeys around the world. And it's not a bad price either — 17 euros for a dorm with three others.  ()
5  Awesome! It's a small hostel. The breakfast consisted of cereals, cookies, and hot drinks. There's a kitchen with 4 small fridges and all the cooking supplies you need! Is also has free internet; a common room with TV, DVD, and guide books; and tables outside on a balcony. I loved it!  ()
5  One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in! The rooms are clean, and the security is good. The atmosphere is friendly and comfortable; it makes you feel like a part of a community. The staff are so helpful and friendly, all the service seems personal. Having a kitchen, laundry facilities, and clean showers really make a difference! The only bad things about this place are the curfew and the shower lock-outs. Other than that, you'll get a wonderful rest and enjoy yourself immensely!  ()
