Nanaimo Intl. Nicol Street Hostel

Nice and cosy hostel with a very friendly owner. I went there twice. The dorms are allright. The second time we rented a private small house, with bed and kitchen, also from the hostel. It was nice to have some privacy after months of travelling. We did our laundry overthere, and it was the first time in months we were able to hang our clothes on a line, instead of putting them in the dryer! (Not very good was the computer with the internetconnection. The system had some bugs in it...)

Good hostel and friendly staff. But the beds are very shaky.

Well, it seems that they have new beds. When I stayed there, they were waggling all night because of the guy above me. It also seemed to be badly soundproofed -- bad luck for me, because I was not invited to the party in the neighboring room...

Another friendly hostel. Beautiful view of the ocean. Walking distance to the mall. It's also very close to the BC ferry so you can hop on the ferry to Tsawwassen on Mainland Canada.

I really felt at home at the Nicol Street Hostel. The beds are the most comfortable I've experienced, and the entire hostel is very warm and comfortable. All the extras you could ask for and a beautiful view from the backyard. Staff is awesome and very friendly.
