Description
Opened May 2005, completely and newly renovated, we've tailor constructed our Kismet Dao Krakow Hostel from our experience as backpackers to fit backpacker needs. Other hostels claim it, we actually live up to it.

FREE every night of your stay:
Breakfast, laundry service, use of clean sheets and beddings, use of kitchen, baggage storage and lockers, safe, private parking.

NO LOCK OUT, CURFEW and CHECK-OUT TIME!

Conveniently located near the main street of Karmelicka, shops, ATMs, trams, restaurants, bars, etc. are all within a short walking distance. The hostel is situated in the Old Town, a 7 minute's walk to the main square. We have the most friendliest, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful staff in Europe. We speak English, Polish and most probably your western tongue.

We also offer common areas, kitchen and a courtyard to hang out and chill in. The free breakfast is available until noon.

We provide dorms and private rooms. Bed areas are in the back, away from the street and common areas, for an assured restful sleep.

Kismet is actually an English word meaning fate, adopted from Arabic. Dao (or Tao) means The Way. Daoism is an ancient Chinese philosophy. The basic eternal principle of the universe that transcends reality and is the source of being, non-being, and change is the Dao. Put the two together and you have Kismet Dao, the Way of Fate. Find yourself here.

5 Seventh Heaven!
This place really was a seventh heaven after the previous hostel we stayed at. Staff was really friendly and provided us with lots of information. Free laundry service was so great -- and the breakfast really made my day. Everything was also very tidy. Not the best location, but still nothing less than five stars. I'll definitely come here again.

3 I was somewhat disappointed with my stay at the Kismet Dao hostel. The hostel itself was not in the best location if you are looking to be close to Old Town. The staff were friendly and very helpful at the hostel. We were lucky with our room...we booked a private en suite and were given a room big enough for four people with out own private kitchenette and bathroom. The room itself was not very clean, there were a lot of spiders in the room, and the beds were uncomfortable. There was one bed in our room that was very plush but the others were like sleeping on wooden slates. The bathroom was big and clean, but towels were not provided for showering. If you are thinking of booking this place because breakfast is included, think again. When we inquired about the breakfast they pointed us towards the kitchen where we could find some jam and a loaf of bread on the shelf. Let's just say we passed on the breakfast. We also had many problems getting into our room...the locks on the doors are very old and tricky to use. The staff assured us that they were working on fixing the locks. Overall the hostel was dingy and a bit rundown. I will definitely return to Krakow someday but probably not to the Kismet Dao.
