Hostal de Maria Hostel

Excellent place to stay at.
I stayed at Hostal de Maria for almost a week at the beginning of 2008 and can only confirm the positive comments. The rooms are great and clean, and so are the bathrooms. The breakfast includes orange juice, cereals, toast. The staff is very easy-going and nice, they even helped me to find a room in Guadalajara. You can easily walk to the city. Walmart, Sears, and a couple smaller stores are close by. If you need a place to stay at in Guadalajara, go there, you won't regret it!

One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed at. Clean, secure, and great ambiance, and at US$12 (with HI card) one of the best bargains. Only drawback I could find was you have to shower before noon. The free breakfast was also a huge plus.

This was my first experience with a Hostel. The place was incredible, I highly recommend it. The staff are very freindly and the owner is one of the nicest people I have ever met. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Guadalajara that is central, clean, and friendly, I urge all to check out Hostel de Maria! You won't regret it.

Stayed here for a week in late Oct'05. One of the nicest, most laid-back I've ever been to. Comfortable, and friendly staff.

I have stayed in a few different places in Guadalajara and this is the best place I have stayed. I spent two weeks here and had a great time. It is in a quiet part of the historical center of the city and I was able to walk to the Cathedral, many museums, traditional markets, etc. The hostel is super clean, the staff are very helpful and it has a great airy kitchen open to their courtyard. If this wasn't enough, the front door of the hostel opens up onto a park. Have fun!!!
