I was very pleased with my stay at this hostel. The 'dormitory' was extremely clean, the atmosphere quiet and respectful, and the 'hosts' very helpful and welcoming. (I 'd love to know what a 'sketchy' area means. if it means dodgy, I'm afraid I would have to disagree.) There's an interesting view of a hidden Roman garden from the inner courtyard. I hope I will be able to stay with you again, thank you!

Italy Inn is a small hostel but my friends and I think it is a clean and safe place to stay. There is a mistake with the address posted on this Web site though. The correct address is Via dei Capocci 37. We arrived at Rome Termini station and had no difficulty in finding the hostel by following the given directions. We do not know if the hostel is located at a very sketchy neighborhood but we thought it was okay. The shared dorm room was very clean as we found it.
We arrived very late at night (around 11 p.m.) but we were still greeted very warmly. The host was very nice and friendly. And when we found out that we made a mistake with our booking, the host did his very best to solve the problem for us. We have to thank him for this!! The only thing we found inconvenient with this hostel is that there was only one bathroom and toilet. So we had to wait for quite a while for the showers.
We had a nice stay at this hostel and if we have a chance to visit Rome in the future, we would like to stay at this hostel again.

Avoid this hostel! The rooms are unclean, it is not near the Metro (as it says it is) and it is in a very sketchy neighborhood. In fact, after passing the same woman standing outside the hostel a number of times, we realized she was a prostitute and at night the street was lined with them. Definitely not an ideal place to stay!

It's a hole, on a very ugly back lane. I'm worried my bags will be stolen by the time I get back to it. It is very confusing to find. And is not "just around the corner from the Cavour Metro stop." The room smells like piss. It's not worth the money.
