The Hostelz.com Review
Heaven Hostel, a small family-run hostel, is not for hard-partying types, as the family live in the apartment. It's a quiet, restful place located in a good condition apartment block in the outskirts of the city, but the centre can be reached within fifteen minutes by tram. Lone female travelers in the hostel when we stayed did not feel safe to walk alone at night in that area.

The hostel is very clean and tidy, except that the dorm has a whole other ecosystem living in it. Some beds are infested with bedbugs, others with small black beetle-like creatures. Unfortunately, the owners are in denial about the bed-bugs so this problem may persist.

As there is no internet, cable TV or good nearby bars, the well-equipped and modern kitchen is the hub of socialising, which is fueled by the nearby twenty-four-hour gas station that is well stocked with cheap beer.
Laundry facilities are available at a very cheap rate and the one shared bathroom includes a fabulous power-shower that only has with cold water, which is slightly worse than the lukewarm bath-shower combo. Be warned that they have strange check-in times -- not from 2:30 to 7 p.m. and that the hostel is on the fifth floor of a building with no lift.

At first we were quite happy with the hostel. We had reserved a private room which was pretty nice (one of the rooms in the pictures). Then the receptionist (who didn't speak english) told us the second night we had to move to another room, we thought she was talking about another private room so didn't think twice about it. The next day we found out we were being moved to the dorm room, the receptionist (an other one, with somewhat better language skills) kept telling us that it was a private room, that it was the same. Problem for us was there wasn't a decent bed, there were some mattresses on the floor and some thin foam mattresses on half broken beds, and our biggest problem was there wasn't even a door, just a sheet, so there was a nice view from/to the living room. After discussing about an hour, we got a refund of about 10€ (for both of us). (which we didn't even ask for, we just wanted our room back). Another not so nice surprise was that there is no parking place, though we were lucky to find a parking place just in front of the building on the street.
