Location/Contact
While it is very cheap, I do not recommend this hostel. The woman who runs this place speaks no English. If you don't understand a sentence in Spanish, she repeats the same words louder and faster. Not very helpful. She was always super strict about the breakfast hours (10 a.m.). She made us pay for an extra day on the way out because we left two hours after checkout (11 a.m.). All of this even though we were the only two guests in the whole hostel. She would often wake us up at 11 a.m. to demand payment for the next night. It was completely rude and unnecessary. This hasn't happened in any other hostel.
Our room had a big door facing the street, so it was loud and cold (in winter). The blankets were not very warm. We were lucky to be able to take the blankets off the two unused beds in the room. This hostel had no Internet access. Other EOTW hostels do, but not this one. The "security lockers" are just cabinets with eyebolt screws for padlocks. The door of the wooden box that you drop your room key in when leaving is easily bent open. It didn't feel safe at all. Hostel owners, please: METAL LOCKERS. The kitchen is like a closet and it's not stocked (no pans, condiments, etc.)
Finally, the hostel is home to a 2-year-old boy (as of June 2005). He's quite cute, but when he's in a bad mood, you will be, too.
Avoid this one.
