Coral View is a functional and friendly resort. Situated on the island of Tavewa, it is a great place to sit back, relax, and sunbathe.
Like much of Fiji’s budget accommodation, bathroom, and showering facilities are basic but well maintained. You might find a queue for the cold-water showers but in this resort no one is in too much of a hurry to do anything. Large dorm rooms and a few private bures hold a maximum of forty-two guests -- making it a perfect place to make friends and meet like-minded travellers.
The resort puts on nightly entertainment and after dinner staff perform traditional Fijian songs and encourage travellers to participate in dancing and games. For those with a bit more energy there are some non-strenuous walks including a climb to the highest part of the island. This is a great vantage point to view the Yasawa Islands and check out neighbouring Turtle Island – the holiday resort of the rich and famous.
The staff make a real effort to make guests feel welcome. They display a Fijian word of the day and daily weather report. There are regular trips to the nearby Blue Lagoon and local caves, and there is a regular flow of free tea and coffee.
