Description

At ocean we have mixed dormitories that sleep a maximum of 14 (though usually theres just a few in each) and rooms that sleep 10 or 6. This is a very Homely hostel with everything centering around the Kitchen as all our guests either eat out or cook their own food.

We have had lots of success in helping larger parties know all the best places to go! Here in our neighbourhood we have Chinese,Indian and traditional scottish restaurants (some of them give discounts to hostel visitors!), very popular bars and even a brand new shopping centre only a 10 min walk away. Access to the castle and Princess street is very easy and there are frequent bus services from right outside the hostel or the manager can call a taxi for you.

We can also book you on tours of the Highlands and Loch Ness or arrange adventure/sightseeing activities in the surrounding areas - Tours are around £30per person and I have NEVER had a complaint yet!
Please allow at least 1 weeks notice to book Tours!

We do not allow anyone under the age of 16 and the hostel is NON-SMOKING anywhere in the building.

The atmosphere in Ocean Hostel is pretty good, its' leisurely and friendly. Some people have been stayed in this hostel for long time. Generally, it's tidy and clean but the kitchen is a bit unorderly and crowded. The location of is not ideal, it's a bit far from city centre; it will be an ideal work to walk though the long Leith Street! However, the day pass for bus is cheap, only asked for 2.3 pounds. There is a bar just opposite to the street, and many people gathered and clamoured until midnight, it will prevent you from good sleep if your room is near the street. The price of Ocean Hostel is relatively cheap—12 Pounds one night, so it's still deserve to live in.
