Well, I supposedly found a place to book this online, but when I got there I discovered they didn't have my reservation — I did have a confirmation printout. They apologized and were really helpful — sorted out another place for the night and then said we could come back for our second night. Alas, the place they sent us to was really sketchy and dirty (Priory Mansions sounded classy enough, but no), with holes in the walls and flies in the halls and stuff. Dirty shared bathroom with some guy's boxers, ha ha. It certainly had character. :) It was still a bed though, and we got a reduced rate.
Primrose Hostel itself is really nice, very clean with nice staff! It's too bad it's out in Golder's Green because it does make it more expensive by Tube, but it's worth it — good prices for private double rooms! Overall a really nice place, better if you call to make reservations directly, I think. :)

We traveled from Canada to London for the first time and upon arrival at the Primrose found it very unprofessional. The room we reserved was to be a double bed with an en suite. When we arrived, our room had a bunk bed and a single bed in the room. The plumbing for the sink in the bathroom did not work, and the walls were not very well insulated, as we could hear the people above as they were having quite a party. The sheets did not look clean and over all the cleanliness was not what you would expect. We only spent one night, as we arrived late and were unable to find accommodations at such an hour. Upon our leaving they wanted half of our reserved week's stay. We did agree on something much more reasonable.
