Tramper's Rest

Tramper's Rest is a cosy little hostel situated just a ten-minute walk from the town centre of Nelson in a heritage street. Supermarkets, shops, and all facilities needed are just a ten-minute walk away. Kiwi owner Alan lives in, loves to socialize, and helps to create a very friendly, homestyle atmosphere.

Beds in the shared dorm rooms are made up -- no bunks. The building is a small cottage -- very homey and warm. Living room offers a large book and CD collection, book exchange, plenty of tourist information, a piano and a guitar, log-fires, and a television. Tea and coffee are free of charge. A small garden at the back of the house invites you to relax in the hammock and herbs can be picked for cooking and preparing tea. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are well equipped and tidy. Bikes are provided for free and free pickup from the central bus station is offered on request. Tramper's Rest is an idyllic spot to relax and to get to know other travelers.
