Filthy, would not stay again!
I was very disappointed with the condition of this hostel. I stayed here with Adventure Tours on my way to Kakadu, and after one night, I promptly canceled my reservation there for when I returned from the tour and booked elsewhere. Though it has a fun environment with a restaurant, bar, and pool, the rooms were filthy with beds that jabbed you in the back with springs. The girls already in our room had turned it into a pigsty. It was filthy, smelled, and there was no clean spot to put our luggage. When we approached the front desk with our problems, they shrugged it off, said they were booked, and sent us on our way. Very poor customer service, unimpressed, plus, it was loud all night long and the rooms were left unlocked by the other people staying constantly. Did not feel safe, had a terrible time, would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone I know.

It's OK I guess - was being done up when I was there in Feb 05 so might be a lot nicer now - pool was being replaced. Darwin is humid and steamy so the aircon is a necessity. The bar next door is nice and has good food. 4 bed dorms were quite scruffy but fine to sleep in - sheets were clean. The attached bathrooms are a bit whiffy and dated but no worse than your average hostel - service was a bit indifferent but overall I'd stay there again. I was there as part of a tour - if you do come to Darwin I would totally recommend going to Kakadu - it was absolutely amazing.
