Description
This quiet little town in the Karoo serves as a thriving horse and sheep stud district. Colesburg Backpackers provides travellers with an opportunity to experience this unique town situated half way between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
A few sites not to be missed include the old horse-driven mill pub, the Karoo cottages in Bell Street and the Kemper Museum for a display on the Anglo-Boer War. Ideal places to visit in the area include the Gariep Dam for some excellent bird-watching and The Rolfontein Nature Reserve has an enormous population as well as other large game.
