I last visited here in 2001, when this hostel was still owned by Uwe Pfaff, a fantastic German artist based in Cape Town. This hostel used to be the greatest party place in town, and it's still perfectly positioned between the town and the waterfront. I hope it hasn't lost its home-away-from home feel. Between 1995 and 2001 you could always locate your best friends in the Hip Hop come Christmas or New Year's, even when you had been at opposite ends of the globe all year. Uwe made this place. As he lives locally, I hope he still visits.
