The Hostelz.com Review
The front door to EastSeven Berlin Hostel is opened by a numerical combination on the keypad. The area around the front desk is very small, but the bedrooms are spacious and clean. You can choose either bunk or normal bed. Key-lockers are inside the room. The cleaning staff will take the towel, so to avoid paying for a new one each day, you must hide it from them in your locker (this is not revealed upon renting the towel).

Laundry is unusual. After handing over your clothes to the staff, they take at least six hours to dry due to backlog, a weak drying machine, and/or ineptitude. They store clothes overnight, so you can get them in the morning.

They have internet access for a fee and there's no breakfast. The hostel has a decent kitchen and common room, and a great outdoor lounge area in the back with wood tables and chairs. The bathroom is near the dorm, and the shower has warm water. There is trendy nightlife at the bars and a few places to eat in the area. Though the hostel is close to a S-Bahn station, it was closed due to construction during our stay and a shuttle bus was operating at times.

I would stay here again. The bathrooms are super clean and assigned to rooms, nice as I never had to wait for a shower/toilet. The staff were nice enough, however, at first I wasn't impressed that they were intoxicated at reception when we checked in. The next few days they made up for it, as they were always friendly, helpful, and seemed to care, and sober. They even do your laundry for you, and for a decent price. Though it was a bit odd handing my female laundry to three guys. They acted professional about it, so that made me feel better. My least favourite thing about here though, it's a smoking allowed hostel. Out of eight hostels in one trip this was the only one with smoking allowed. The location isn't the greatest if you want the major sights, streets were a bit much to navigate in the area, but overall, I could see myself staying here again.

EastSeven is an amazing hostel. It is everything the budget traveller is looking for. It is in a very cool (or über chic as the Germans say) part of town, it is clean, comfortable, has a nice kitchen (stocked with supplies), and a beautiful outdoor garden. However, the biggest drawcard for this hostel is the friendly staff. They are always willing to assist, they joke around with you, and they make your stay a pleasurable experience. Five-star fun with this hostel.

The best hostel i have stayed in so far in Europe. Really friendly helpful staff. Clean large bedrooms and bathrooms. Nice cold beer, nice little kitchen and living area, and beautiful little garden out the back.

It was so very friendly and welcoming, the staff were quick to suggest landmarks or places to dine out. Laundry came back fresh and the pillows -- the best pillows on Earth. I loved it and would book here again.

Best hostel I've stayed at in Europe. Cool staff. Nice rooms. Great bathrooms. Amazing pillows. Happy Hour. Play your own music in the common area. Fridge and kitchen. Location close to bars and metro. Excellent hostel for the money
