We liked the location of the hostel, and the staff person we dealt with was very friendly and helpful. But the price we paid for a private room was as high as a motel price; and it turned out to be filled with bunkbeds anyway. Also, the hostel is home to students at the nearby university, including one who was talking loudly on her cell phone outside our door at 3 a.m.!

We came in on a rainy night and they made room for us, with no reservations. It was nice and quiet and clean. The room we stayed in had a ceiling covered in artwork and poetry. I would definitely recommend it; in fact I'm going back this weekend!

Craig runs a friendly, clean hostel; I've stayed there on several occasions, and never had any issues with other guests. I recommend it as a first-rate place to stay.

This place had a warm and cool atmosphere, like being at a friend's house in a gorgeous region. I did not have the chance to meet Craig but his spirit is floating everywhere in the house. And Sho and Bud were wonderful guests. Thank you guys.

Immaculate and attractive, fantastic atmosphere, upbeat staff, convenient location in a terrific town that has so much to offer. My best hosteling experience ever!

New Paltz is a great place to stay. It's fun, clean, and friendly. I would highly recommend it. Craig is a star!
