Friendliest, most cost effective and comfortable hostel in Peru We visited the BFH in May of 2008. Pedro and Christian welcomed us to the hostel like no one we've dealt with in all of our travels. They showed us everywhere that was worth a visit in Lima, and kept us away from all the "dangerous" parts of town. Pedro even helped us get place tickets online in a pinch because some of our plans got messed up along the way. And finally, remember that if Pedro asks you to play jenga, you have no reason to worry because he is awful.

Clean, Friendly, Secure, Location, Location! In June 2007, I stayed here after I had already traveled to Machu Picchu, Cuzco, and the Amazon rainforest. This hostel is in an excellent location, where it is safe to walk two miles past beautiful parks, tennis club, and ocean views to the modern Larcomar shopping mall and Miraflores Casino. There are also many high-rise penthouse condos with security guards and chauffeurs lining the opposite side of the street. Within one block of the hostel is a quaint cliffside cafe with delicious pastries, sandwiches, lattes, and tea. The new owners keep the hostel spotless and shiny and very comfortable. Twenty-four hour reception.

We stayed here when we first arrived in South America, the service was excellent, the staff extremely helpful and friendly, the hostel is comfortable, cheap and homely. We are coming back to Lima to meet some friends and we are going to be staying there! We couldn't ask for better accommodation! Well worth it!

Backpackers family house is well situated in front of the sea in miraflores district. There is no noise, it's a fine place to be -- all commodities are near, with the advantage to be near beach way and parks. The hostal is well decorated with nice, old furniture. The owner Aymar give some good informations about Lima city and this is good, because here it's better to know where you go because of some insecurity. so thanks to backpackers family house, i spend a really nice time here.
