AntiHostel Forrest is more of a boutique hotel, boasting four private "capsule" rooms and one mixed dorm. All guests share two toilets and two showers. You are required to take your shoes off; they provide slippers to share as well as slippers for sale.
The Location
AntiHostel Forrest is a five-minute walk from the Opera House. It is the perfect place to stay if you are planning to watch opera and/or ballet. It is about ten minutes from Rynok Square -- the perfect place for guests wanting to be close to Rynok Square, without being directly in it -- and located just off the busy main street (the street itself is a quiet residential street).
Rooms and Bathrooms
AntiHostel Forrest is known for its "capsule" rooms. These are tiny, private rooms, each with two single beds. In addition to these rooms, they have one mixed dorm for eight people. There is no air conditioning. The dorm windows face a courtyard so there can be some mosquitoes (a common problem in Lviv).
There are two showers and two toilets, divided by gender. In addition to two full bathrooms, there are two sinks for those wishing to just brush their teeth or wash their hands -- this is a very thoughtful and convenient design that enables more people to use the restroom at once. Due to the small capacity of the hostel, the two toilets work out nicely.
Common Spaces
There is a tiny sitting area between two sets of capsule rooms where guests often leave their luggage. Serving as the primary common area is a full kitchen, with two electric burners, a full refrigerator, and large dining table. The hostel also has snacks available for purchase. There is plenty of seating in the kitchen. In the kitchen there is also a television. The hostel provides complimentary tea and coffee for its guests.
There is a washing machine you can pay to use; there's no dryer, but there is a drying rack for use. Included in the cost of your stay is a towel. Locks are included with lockers. There is no deposit required for towel or key. Entrance to the hostel is conveniently via keycode, which is provided upon arrival.
Summary
Overall, this is a clean, welcoming hostel that's great for short stays. The location is wonderful. The check-in process is a very simple and direct with no surprises. English is limited, but customer service is still quite good. This is an excellent hostel option in Lviv.
